We use 95% micro Lenzing™ Modal and 5% elastane. This fabric is noticeably softer and more breathable than cotton, and far more comfortable than nylon blends, which tend to trap heat and moisture. Modal is also antibacterial and moisture-wicking, so it stays fresher throughout the day and keeps its softness after repeated washes.

There is research suggesting that excessive heat and tight synthetic fabrics in the groin area may negatively affect testosterone levels and fertility over time. That is one reason stark avoids synthetic-heavy blends like nylon. Our modal fabric breathes well and maintains airflow without compressing or overheating sensitive areas.
Stark underwear is designed to hold its shape and feel after 50+ washes. Modal is naturally resilient, and the waistband is built to stay flat without curling or stretching out. The fabric does not pill, fade, or become rough over time, which is a common issue with cotton underwear.
